Horizon School Division Welcomes Principal Klaas Hoekstra as the Temporary Principal for Taber Christian High School

The Horizon School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Klaas Hoekstra as the temporary Principal of Taber Christian High School for the 2025-2026 school year. Mr. Hoekstra will continue with his principalship with Taber Christian Alternative School in conjunction as temporary Principal at Taber Christian High School.

Klaas has been part of the Horizon School Division since 2012 when he moved to Alberta from Ontario with his wife, Tanya. They have 4 kids who attend Taber Christian Schools, and the family is active in serving the community and loves to participate in sports.

Klaas received his Master’s degree while studying in Buffalo during his first years in education and is currently in a Doctorate program with a focus on Leadership in Education.

He loves the collaboration that is represented in the Horizon School Division and has grown as a leader because of the relationships he's developed with school leaders and staff from all schools within Horizon. He loves Jesus, his family, sports, and helping others.

He looks forward to helping Taber Christian High School continue to be a strong faith-based option for the community as they integrate faith and learning into all aspects of school. Klaas is excited to work alongside the staff of dedicated Christians teaching and serving the students at TCHS. He is excited to be part of both TCS and TCHS and sees this as an awesome opportunity for collaboration between both schools.
