Horizon School Division celebrates Orange Shirt Day, Monday, September 30, 2019.

Orange Shirt Day started in 2013 in Williams Lake, BC. It grew out of the story of an Indigenous child, Phyllis, who had her orange shirt taken from her on her first day at a residential school. The day is aimed at ensuring discussions about residential schools, and about reconciliation. Read Phyllis' story here...
