The Horizon School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Nicole Cooney as one of the new Vice Principals of W.R. Myers High School, commencing with the 2022-2023 school year.
Ms. Cooney has worked for Horizon School Division since 2009. She graduated from the University of Lethbridge in 2008 with degrees in English Literature and English Language Arts Education. Last spring, Nicole received her Master of Educational Leadership degree from the University of Lethbridge. Her educational philosophy is rooted in the belief that all students can succeed.
Nicole has extensive experience working with at-risk students and a passion for adolescent literacy. Nicole has worked in various alternative programs in Horizon including High School Outreach and the Horizon Alternative Junior High Program at Ace Place Learning Centre, and most recently in the Taber Mennonite Program at W R. Myers and D.A. Ferguson schools.
Nicole enjoys the outdoors hiking, camping, and mountain biking with her husband, Tim. During the winter, you'll find Nicole at arenas across the country officiating at speed skating competitions.
Nicole values teamwork and collaboration and considers it a privilege and honor to join the administration team of W.R. Myers.
