New Principal for W.R. Myers High School

The Board of Trustees for The Horizon School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Scott Petronech as the new principal of W.R. Myers High School commencing with the 2021-2022 school year.                          

Mr. Petronech has been employed in the field of education for 25 years. He joined Team Horizon in 2017, as the Principal for Chamberlain School / Arden T. Litt.  Mr. Petronech’s educational background includes a B.Sc. with a specialization in Biology, a B.Ed. with a specialization in Secondary Education and a M.Ed. with a specialization in Educational Leadership. He is also an Apple Distinguished Educator and an Apple Professional Development Trainer who developed Canada’s first Apple Distinguished School while he was an administrator in Calgary.

Scott says "I am honoured to be selected as the new principal of W.R. Myers. It is an excellent school that is developing the future leaders of our community. I look forward to working with the staff to ensure that students are set up for success and able to achieve their goals.”

The Board of Trustees is confident W.R. Myers’ students, staff, and community will benefit from Mr. Petronech’s experience and strong relationships skills. We look forward to working with Mr. Petronech, parents, and W.R. Myers High School as they continue to foster quality teaching and optimum learning that is built upon collaboration and effective relationships.
