Audit Committee Volunteers Requested
The recently passed Education Act requires school boards to appoint an audit committee of at
least five members. The committee must include a member of the business community and a
member of the adult learning community, neither of which can be a trustee.
The audit committee will be established to: recommend external auditors to the board, review
the annual financial statements and report to the board, and attend to other matters as the
board may determine in the establishment of the audit committee.
Letters of interest, detailing the applicant’s experience in business or adult learning must be
received at the Horizon School Division board office by Friday, November 1, 2019. Submissions
