Horizon School Division Welcomes Principal for Taber Christian High School

Posted on May 11, 2020

The Board of Trustees for Horizon School Division in partnership with the Taber Society for Christian Education will be starting a Christian High School within Taber. Horizon School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jason Visser as the principal of the new Taber Christian High School effective the 2020-2021 school year.

Mr. Visser brings with him several years of education along with teaching and administrative experience. His educational journey began in Iowa where he graduated from Dordt University and went on to teach English in Japan for 3 years. Then in 2006 Mr. Visser graduated from Kings University with a B Ed. Degree and went on to teach for another five years before being appointed the principal for Immanuel Christian Elementary School (ICES) in 2011, the same year he completed his Masters of Education Degree. It was during his principalship with ICES that the school became an Alternative Christian program in the Lethbridge school division, which was a significant transitional experience for him.

Mr. Visser was born and raised in Taber. He and his wife have four children that keep them busy. In his spare time, he enjoys watching movies, playing guitar, golfing and fishing.

Jason states, “I am really looking forward to working with the Horizon School Division and the Taber Christian School Community and in this exciting adventure!”

The Board of Trustees is confident Taber Christian High School students, staff, and community will benefit from Mr. Visser’s expertise, experience in Christian education, and strong belief in community. Please join us in welcoming Jason Visser to Team Horizon.
