Family Connections Coordinator
Horizon School Division is seeking an
energetic leader to assume the role of Family Connections Coordinator. This is
a full-time non teaching position made available due to the secondment to
Alberta Education of the present coordinator.
The Family Connections Program is designed
to provide an integrated service approach to meet the mental, social, physical,
and emotional needs of the students and their families. Duties and
responsibilities of the position include:
Supervise and
coordinate the work of the Family Connection workers.
Liaise with
other resources/agencies and make necessary referrals ( i.e. counseling,
health, education, addictions, financial assistance).
Gather data,
evaluate programs and write quarterly reports.
Attend
meetings with other agencies, service groups and volunteer groups as
required.
Attend Project
meetings
Develop
program process, structure and communication plan.
Work with
school principals to ensure appropriate services and assistance for
families and students is in place in the target schools.
Qualifications
The preferred candidate's qualifications
include a degree in psychology, social work, education or family studies.
Working knowledge of community agencies and supports. Strong Organizational and
management skills. Experience in working with outcomes based programs. An understanding of the Low German Mennonite
culture/language would be an asset.
