Family School Liaison Workers

This program is designed to offer support for children, youth, families and school staff with the general goal of improving the student's personal, social and academic success. The program provides a link between home and school for the student and family.
The program's FNMI Liaison Worker provides support to the First Nation, Metis and Inuit students and families. The FNMI Liaison Worker also provides a link between home and school. The FNMI Liaison Worker provides support to the First Nation, Metis and Inuit students and families and connects them to appropriate resources or agencies if needed within the community.
The Mennonite Liaison Worker provides a link between home and school for mennonite families. Horizon School Division also believes the Mennonite Liaison worker builds trusting relationships with mennonite families to provide the link between home and school to ensure that school aged children have access to quality education. George is able to communicate with families in Low German and will provide support to families who may be facing various challenges adapting to life in Canada.
