South West Alberta Regional Collaborative Service Delivery - Regional Manager:
Reporting to the Southwest Alberta Regional Leadership Team, the Regional Manager provides a key leadership role in promoting the vision of collaborative service delivery and strengthening relationships within the region. The Manager works collaboratively with all partners and maintains communication with partners, agencies, and other stakeholders in order to ensure a collaborative and integrated approach to providing services for children/youth. This position is accountable for building capacity, coordinating supports and services, and developing a multi-disciplinary regional service delivery team to meet the unique needs for children and youth requiring specialized supports. The position is also responsible and accountable for making key decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for establishing and contributing to the achievement of the goals of the Regional Leadership Team.
The Regional Manager will work in an interdisciplinary environment with education, human services, and health care professionals. The Regional Manager will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key community partners in order to provide leadership for RCSD programs and services. The Regional Manager will be the RCSD’s liaison with the Provincial Coordinator.
The Regional Manager will promote the three provincial strategic objectives:
- Improving access to the right supports and services at the right time in the right place
- Building capacity of communities, including school staff, service providers and families
- Improving integration and coordination of support and services
Qualifications for position:
- Masters degree in Education, Health or Human Services (a combination of education and experience would be considered)
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years leadership experience, with demonstrated change leadership and team development skills
- Ability to work in a complex multifaceted, cross sector environment and to deliver results
- Ability to solve problems and find solutions that involve navigation of more than one sector
- Proven ability to lead teams and build capacity that directly impacts professional practise
- A belief in inclusion and the importance of integrated service delivery
- A broad understanding of legislation and policy issues
- Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle
Educational Behavior Consultant

- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the health, education or human services fields. A Masters’ degree is considered an asset.

Horizon School Division is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time Educational Psychologist to work out of our division office.
Responsibilities:
- Support for inclusive education
- Administration of psycho-educational assessments (cognitive ability, achievement, learning, behavior, adaptive skills, social and emotional issues, executive function and memory)
- Consultation with teachers and parents regarding implementation of appropriate strategies, goals and objectives for supporting students
Qualifications:
- Current registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists or be in the process of becoming registered
- Experience in providing psychological services across all developmental levels (i.e. Early Education through grade 12) and have knowledge and experience with a wide range of exceptionalities (mental health issues, complex developmental disorders, learning disorders)
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of assessment techniques and tools to determine children’s psychological and educational needs and to provide direction for programming

Residence Manager – approx. 30 hrs/week. This position requires strong parenting skills, attention to detail, organizational and interpersonal skills, and ability to respond in efficient and purposeful manner to a multitude of tasks. FACILITIES DEPARTMENT
JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN
Horizon School Division No. 67, Maintenance Dept., based in Taber, invites applications for a 40 hr/wk Journeyman Electrician position, to commence August 1, 2013.
The successful applicant will possess a provincial or inter-provincial journeyman certificate for electrician. Strong skills and extensive experience in commercial and institutional electrical work is required. Experience and qualifications in building controls, information technology infrastructure, and life safety systems will be a valuable asset. Work time and responsibility will be proportioned approximately evenly between electrical work, HVAC trouble shooting, and building controls programming. Must be able to work independently and as part of the Horizon Maintenance Team. A clean driver's license abstract and a criminal record check are required.
